I bought this item for one reason, to be able to use an app I purchased that allows you to take photos of business cards and it reads them and categorizes them in your contact list. The lens on this case does allow for close-up photography, which is pretty cool. But, the case gets really dirty inside. When I took it off after it being on there for a couple of weeks, the phone was covered in lint from my pocket. Not only this, but the lens doesn't stay in place. It is very dificult to take pictures when you have to have one finger holding the lens in place so that it doesn't slide half way in or out of the picture.

Bottom line, they should put some sort of a sealer around the edges to keep crap from entering inside the case, and they should add a click in place groove for the "on" or "off" positions of the lens. -- works, but...

This was my second case for my iPhone, the first one sucked. I did some looking around and found this one. I LOVE the lens for the close up pictures, and it keeps my phone safe!

Been using this for almost a year now. It does a great job protection the iphone, it has fell to the floor from my hands and the iphone has survived without a scratch. The lens of the cover for my 3GS only works as a protective shield, something only this case I've seen having such thing. With the protective lens on, the picture looks blurry, I just slide it to off and use the camera like I normally would. The sliding of the lens so far hasn't scratched the phone. -- Good Product
