I was looking for a way to hook my iPod into my sound system and I found this item. This is an excellent product that has a fantastic range. I sit in my living room and control my iPod that is hooked to the sound system in the bedroom. I love the visual indication of the songs and playlist that you can select. It also has a volume indicator that tells you how high you have set the volume. My parents have the Bose dock for their iPod and it doesn't do any of this, and it cost the same. I highly recommend this unit for anyone wanting to hook their iPod into a stereo system. -- Excellent IPod doc

I've had two previous iPod docks to connect to my home stereo. Both from DLO Homedock. The first was very basic - it worked okay, but broke in about a year. The second was more advanced, with a remote that would show the playlists and the current song - but you had to sync it any time you changed your iPod. This was inconvenient (at the least) and generally a pain. In addition this one broke after about a year and a half and it cost over $100.

The Phillips unit is not only built better, works better, is always in sync with my iPod content, but it is one-third the price! I don't know why the Phillips doc/remote isn't more highly advertised. I never saw it in any retail stores (I bought the first two docks at Best Buy). I only found it by searching the web when I needed to replace my second DLO unit.

In addition to giving you complete control of your iPod (via RF - so you don't need to be line-of-sight) the remote is also a very nice universal IR remote - so you can control the rest of your AV system with a single remote (for all of the basic functionality).

I highly recommend this over the DLO and other iPod dock solutions.
